Dr. Nathan N. Chikono
Group Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Nathan Chikono is a career insurance and risk management practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Dr Nathan is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA), an Associate of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (AIRMSA), Certified Risk Management Professional (Crm. Prof-IRMSA) and approved ISO 31000 Lead Trainer (AT31000).
In addition, Dr Nathan also holds a B Com Risk Management degree, an MA Leadership and Management degree, an M.Com Business Management degree, a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) specialising in workplace safety leadership, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Management Studies, specializing in Competitive Intelligence (PhD). Dr Nathan completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business – Seed Transformation Programme class of 2025 and has worked for several leading insurers in Zimbabwe, including NicozDiamond, Zimnat, and Econet Insurance.

Sibongile Tsapo
Managing Director - Champions Insurance
Sibongile holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree in Insurance and Risk Management, as well as a distinction in the Certificate of Proficiency in short-term insurance from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ). Currently, she is pursuing an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Midlands State University. With over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, Sibongile has showcased her expertise and knowledge in short-term insurance and management. Her professional journey began at Momentum Insurance Brokers, where she served as an Account Executive. She earned a promotion to Operations Manager, a position she held for 5 years. Subsequently, she transitioned to CBZ Risk Advisory Services, undertaking the role of Acting Relationship Manager for Employee Benefits. Sibongile later joined Champions Holdings as the Principal Officer & Managing Director for BlueFin Risk Solutions before assuming the position of Principal Officer and Managing Director at Champions Insurance.
Hazel Mtemachani
Managing Director - Southern Oracle Microinsurance
Hazel, the Managing Director of Southern Oracle, brings a wealth of experience to her role. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Midlands State University, she is deeply rooted in the industry. Her credentials extend further
with a certificate of Proficiency in short-term insurance from the esteemed Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Midlands State University, she continues to deepen her knowledge and expertise.
With over a decade of dedicated service in the insurance sector, Hazel’s journey began at Zimnat General, where she started as an Underwriter. Through her remarkable dedication and skill, she ascended the ranks to become the Chief Underwriter, showcasing her exceptional leadership and
understanding of the field. Prior to her tenure at Southern Oracle Microinsurance, she held the pivotal role of Chief Technical Underwriter at Sanctuary Insurance Company.

Sheena Havadi

Sheena is an experienced professional with over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry. Renowned for a proven track record in driving revenue growth and cultivating strategic partnerships, strategic planning, thorough market analysis, and the successful execution of innovative marketing campaigns.
With a focus on client relationship management, she consistently delivers exceptional results by identifying business opportunities, implementing creative solutions, and forging enduring relationships. Kelvin Chaipa
Group Risk, Audit & Compliance
Kelvin is a Group Risk, Audit & Compliance Specialist with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Insurance and Risk Management. He is an Associate of the Insurance Institute, bringing strong industry knowledge and professionalism to his role. Kelvin is responsible for overseeing enterprise risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening internal audit processes. His expertise supports sound governance, operational efficiency, and sustainable business practices across the group. He is passionate about building resilient and compliant organizational cultures.
Kuzivaishe Chibiso
Group Data Scientist & Strategy Analyst
Kuzivaishe is a skilled professional with expertise in data analytics and strategic planning. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Ashesi University, Ghana, and a Master’s degree in Data Science and Informatics from the University of Zimbabwe.
With experience as a Business Analyst at Bluefin Technology, she honed her analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills, enabling her to effectively integrate technology and data analytics to drive informed decision-making and foster business growth.
Kuzivaishe excels in leveraging data-driven strategies to identify opportunities, optimize processes, and deliver impactful results in dynamic business environments.

Abbas Kantharia
Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Abbas Kantharia has been in the Insurance industry for over 40 years. Having started as a trainee underwriter for Royal Insurance company. He moved to General Insurance company to serve as an Assistant to Fire and Accident Superintendent, he was later promoted to the position of Fire and Accident Superintendent for Zimbabwe. Abbas then moved to Pearl General Insurance Company of London as the General Manager for Malawi for 3 years, after which he returned to Zimbabwe to take up a Directorship position with CT Bowring Group for a 3-year period following which he established Kantharia Insurance Brokers up to 2008. He then moved into Independent Insurance Consultancy and has been sitting in various Boards. His main strength is on Strategic planning and Risk Management. Abbas is a season Charted Insurance practitioner, he holds a a certified insurance practitioner (ACII).
Bart Toet
Non-Executive Director
Bart Toet is a career insurance practitioner and has served the industry for over 30 years starting with First Mutual Life where he served in the Executive Unit for 10 years. His Short-Term Insurance career started at Prudential Insurance as a Sales Consultancy before he moved to Tristar and served as a Sales Consultancy up to 2011 when he joined Champions Insurance Company as a Non-executive Director and resigned in 2017. Bart was then reappointed to the Champions Insurance Board in 2021. Bart is qualified by traceable experience and has received various prestigious awards for Service Excellence and Astute Workmanship notably, the First Mutual Top Producer Award for 7 years running including being a member of the million’ dollars roundtable USA
Fadzai Chakauya
Non-Executive Director
Fadzai has over eighteen years of experience as a Commercial Law expert with a particular focus on compliance, risk, and governance, as well as telecommunications regulation. Fadzai is the Executive Dean of the Student Affairs Division at Midlands State University as of 2019, with prior experience as a University Proctor and several administrative forums within the University that have provided her with specialised knowledge, strategic management skills and personal development. She is an adept public management administrator and policy expert. Fadzai holds a Master of Laws degree in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town, Bachelor of Laws from University of the Witwatersrand, Post Graduate Certificate in Compliance, Risk and Governance from Wits University, PhD Candidate, certifications and associations from reputable international institutions.
Kudakwashe Musundire
Non-Executive Director
Kuda is a holder of various qualifications, including an Honors Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree from the University of South Africa. He has attained numerous professional qualifications including a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Auditing, Certificate Theory in Accounting and he is a certified Chartered Accountant.
He has over 15 years of business experience at the management level, having worked in manufacturing and retail, property investments, professional accounting and audit, telecommunications, and financial services sectors. Kuda started his career in 2006 at BDO Zimbabwe Chartered Accountants. He moved to First Mutual Life Holdings in 2011 as the Group’s Internal Audit Manager. He then joined PG Zimbabwe Industries as the Group Internal Audit Manager and was later promoted to Group Finance Director. He later moved to TelOne as the Finance Director. He is currently working at Mashonaland Holdings Limited as the Chief Finance Officer.

Mutsa Mujaji is a tenacious and professional individual with a master’s degree and remarkable experience at the executive level in renowned and well-respected listed corporations and large corporations within the mining, manufacturing/processing, service, and other industrial sectors. Currently serving as group CEO of a company that provides essential tools and knowledge to major mining companies like Impala Mine. A high achiever who has continually developed and executed innovations to increase profitability and boost the bottom line throughout his career.
